Episode: “Demons”
Writer: Rob Hanning
- “Dad, are you using me as a shield against flesh-eating zombies?” “No. No. I just wanted you to have a better view.”
- “Why doesn’t it surprise me that you actually watch that ridiculous show.” “Ridiculously awesome!”
- “Jack Sinclair is hands down America’s most accomplished ghost hunter.” “Um, Castle, Jack Sinclair is the name of our victim.” “And the hunter becomes the hunted.”
- “I’m saying maybe Mr. Sinclair finally met a wraith he couldn’t wrangle.”
- “Heard you were racking up quite a bill. Or is that billing quite a rack?”
- “The only thing Barry is guilty of killing is…time in a strip club.”
- “So, if Barry’s not our guy, I think it’s time we revisit the possibility that our killer was a…” “If you say ghost, I’m sending you home.” “Apparition American.”
- “I’m sure there’s a perfectly simple explanation for all of that.” “There is. They’re heeeere!”
- “Fine. A demon killed Jack Sinclair. So what’s our next step? Are we going to stake out the house; wait for the demon to show up; and zap them with our proton pack?”
- “Real ghost hunters? Isn’t that a contradiction in terms, bro?”
- “Ooh — that’s a look.” “Yeah.”
- “Yo — I just saw Ryan downstairs. I can’t believe you let him go chasing ghosts with Castle.” “Yeah — maybe Shaggy will keep Scooby out of trouble. Besides you never know. Maybe they will come up with something useful.” “Oh. You want useful. Cause I just spoke to CSU. They found fingerprints at the scene…from a real live person so…”
- “Ghost Wranglers did a piece on Five Points Correctional and Ron was featured. Claims he was sharing his cell with a spirit.” “Well that’s prison overcrowding for you.” “Apparently Casper was being a little too friendly…touching Ron in all the wrong places.” “Molested by a ghost. Wow. Some people will do anything to get on TV.”
- “So Jack hired Ron Berger to take pictures of the very room he was going to die in. That’s creepy.” “That’s not creepy, Castle. I’m sure that it can all be explained and I bet you that living room has absolutely nothing to do with ghosts or demons.”
- “Oh well you know uh — Ryan and I would be glad to go check this out — if you guys are too busy solving that murder.”
- “Really? He claimed there was a demon involved.” “I know. Like anyone’s going to fall for that, right? I mean what kind of jackass did he think he was dealing with?”
- “Oh, isn’t this funny. It’s Ashley. Decline!”
- “I think I’ve either had too much wine or not enough.”
- “You want to go now?” “Well, unless, of course, you’re afraid.”
- “If you’re not scared, just say it.” “No.” “Come on, you know you want to.” “I don’t want to say it, Castle.” “For me. Please.” “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.” “Thank you.”
- “Then I’m open to the alternative.” “You? Skepticus Maximus?”
- “Wow, Castle, mature.” “Sorry.”
- “OK, I’m gonna go up. Ready? Grab my legs.” “(gasp) Castle, I said legs.” “Oh, legs. Sorry.”
- “Take breaths, Castle. It’s just a rat.”
- “Cause of death?” “Don’t know yet. But I’m guessin’ it wasn’t the world’s longest game of hide-and-seek.”
- “I think it’s time we took a harder look at Pete Benton. (whispers) Don’t ask her about the date.”
- “Did you guys have a big fight after?” “Big fight, no. Mega fight, yes.”
- “He said Melanie had two co-workers. Both guys.” “Uh huh.” “Married.” “Still?” “To each other.” “Oh.”
- “And yet there he is. Of course, he might just be here to fix a busted toilet.”
- “Any more helpful hints you’d care to pass on to our killer?”
- “So busted.” “Ghost busted.”
- “Maybe Jack Sinclair’s ghost was helping him solve his own murder.” “OK, I’ll tell you what. I will admit to that possibility if you admit there is no demon.” “Done.”
- “If two people believe in something — really believe — anything — even the impossible — is possible.”
Castle airs on ABC Mondays at 10/9c.

Hulu’s Paradise S1 Weaves Past and Present to Unravel a Murder
One of the nice things about the symbiosis of the entertainment conglomerates is that sometimes streaming shows make their way over to linear outlets. Case in point: ABC has given Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building a primetime slot (after of course tweaking the language for FCC regs) during its...

Scott McCord Talks From Season 3
From the jump (pun intended), I’ve been a staunch advocate of Victor (and Scott McCord, who plays him), and this season, he’s been put through it. On the heels of sending Tabitha off into the unknown and having her return with his father, he unearths the long-suppressed memory that as...

Two Takes: The Catch “The Knock-Off”
Who can you trust? If this episode of The Catch was any indication, the answer is just about nobody. Betrayal was running rampant as Felicity (Shivani Ghai) arose from the dead to seduce-con Margot, Gretchen (Maria Thayer, Gotham, The Mindy Project) played gold-hearted Alice 2.0 before swindling Ethan, Tessa jumped...

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything...
What They Said: Favorite Quotes from Supernatural “Angel Heart”
Okay, that was my favorite of all the Claire episodes. In the beginning I think this arc was a bit shaky, to be honest. But I think it ended strong and that’s thanks to the chemistry between the actors as well as the strength of the writing, courtesy of Robbie...

Jess has a ladyboner for a new teacher, with a pretty inappropriate last name. I approve. Coach, ever the player, gets in trouble at school for dating (I’m using the term euphemistically here) two school employees at the same time. And Nick imagines himself a sort of secretary when they...
