Eyewitness Preview: “The Lilies”

[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

This week’s Eyewitness brings the case forward and moves Lukas and Philip into second position as Helen uncovers evidence that Bella’s death was staged, catapulting her to push for answers and running her right into Kane, who will officially make your skin crawl (but I still adore Warren).

Lukas asks Philip for help as he begins to unravel under the weight of the shooting, which draws unwelcome attention from his dad. Philip does what he can, but draws certain lines, until he finally does the only thing he can think of to keep Lukas safe. He’s also dealing with his mom’s sudden arrival in Tivoli after she balks at Gabe and Helen’s attempt to drive her to rehab. There’s a sweet upside to that, though.

Sita is backed into a corner of her own with the Vescovis and Mithat that puts Kami in a supremely awkward position of what to do for her.

Kane, meanwhile, works his own angles when Helen gets too close, painting an even more horrific picture of how Bella died (seriously, y’all, skin crawling) to cast the blame away from himself.

And although Helen gets a couple of quiet respites with Gabe, who’s trying to get her to talk to him, she does a little unraveling of her own when Bella’s case dredges up memories. of Buffalo.
