Warning: Spoilers Ahead

TV Goodness had a chance to talk to series star Ioan Gruffudd at NYCC. He told us why he was drawn to this role and what he loves about playing Henry. I don’t know about you, but I’m really enjoying the gradual reveal of Henry’s life. We get to see how his past experience gives him some unique insight into solving these present-day murders. Personally, I can’t imagine being an immortal and living for over 200 hundred years. While some people would embrace the idea of a never-ending existence, Henry does not. He considers his immortality a burden and as a medical examiner, he’s looking for a way to unlock his curse. Will he eventually succeed? Will Jo uncover his secret? Will the other immortal do something to expose Henry’s secret? I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to find out.

Episode Synopsis, from ABC:

What looks like a drug overdose death of a reformed junkie-turned community activist results in Henry and Jo tracking a murderer. The complex investigation involves dirty dealings between a real estate developer and a community organizer with millions of dollars at stake. Henry flashes back to the same 1890s New York tenement where he worked as a doctor to help the poor, including an orphan boy who gives him a special handmade gift. Meanwhile, Abe cooks up a Sunday dinner feast for Henry, Jo and himself. When Jo tries to find out how the two men know one another, Henry weaves an elaborate tale to cover the truth.

Forever airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
