What I’d Do For Ricky Gervais

We starting a new feature called “What I’d Do For…” insert name of actor. Would we watch an episode of a show we don’t usually watch just for them? Would we order a pay cable channel to watch their series? Would we fly to a foreign country just to attend a convention they’re in? You get the idea.

I am now and will forever be a fan of Ricky Gervais. I don’t care what comes out of his mouth, I love him. And did you hear? Ricky Gervais says he’s been invited back to host the Golden Globes again next year. The HFPA has also heard that news, though, and they’re not too keen on that idea. What I will say is this: If he’s hosting, I’m watching. Period.

I don’t watch the US version of The Office. I am a devoted (some say rabid) fan of the original and I just didn’t like the pilot of the US version. So, I’ve chosen to stay away. That’s until last week (well, technically today when I watched a clip online). I want to say I watched the entire episode, but that would be a lie. If said clip hadn’t isolated Ricky Gervais’s cameo I would have watched the entire episode. That’s how much I love him. What I did see, I enjoyed. It was so nice seeing David Brent back in true form. Well, if he’d been more offensive and inappropriate, that would have been great but I’ll take what I can get. His chemistry with Steve Carell’s Michael Scott was fun and I laughed a lot. You having a laugh? Yes. Yes, I am.
