[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

This week’s Killjoys is the episode I was on set for, and it’s fun to see it all come together after peeking behind the curtain. Disclaimer: We weren’t on hand for any of the scenes where folks are not dressed, so I have no scoop for you there. Sad trombone.

The gist of the hour is that the crew go looking for the plasma (which funnily enough they coined green goo during our visit), which leads them, via a connection from Pree’s old life, to Sam Romwell (Tyrant‘s Keon Alexander), a broker with a longstanding warrant and a very interesting backstory about why he’s been such a bad boy for such a long time. When he crosses a line with Dutch, we see a little more of her backstory, too.

We also get a few femme fatale fembots and the trio enjoying a little alone time with their respective new and old friends, before a new mystery is unleashed on two fronts–one in a very personal and completely terrifying way.

We’ve had quite the tease so far with only four episodes left after this one. I do hope we get some, if not all, of the answers. Ratings are solid so I’m thinking a renewal is a foregone conclusion, especially with Space co-producing.

Killjoys airs Fridays at 9/8c on Syfy. Here are a couple of sneak peeks of “I Love Lucy.”
