[Warning: General spoilers ahead]
Well, friends, we’ve arrived at the Haven conclusion, and I can safely say there’s a little something for everyone. It’s a carefully crafted love letter for the longtime fans that’s also a little bit infuriating in places, because we just care that much about this cast, these characters, and this show. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll swoon, you’ll yell at your TV, and then do it all over again. First things first–the finale is two episodes, airing back to back starting at 10/9c Thursday on Syfy.

We pick up with Duke still roaming around town as Croatoan’s bitch. Nathan and Audrey try to reason with him at the same time dear old Dad Croatoan is doing the hard court press on Audrey (and Nathan) and she’s pushing back the best she can. Meanwhile, Vince and Dwight are weighing options now that there’s a version of Lizzie seemingly alive and well.

The Void, The Barn, and Aether are all over both episodes, but the defining theme in the final two hours is what it’s always been with Haven: Love. Love wins, but at a very precious cost. Again and again. Time after time, and even across time. It’s not a perfect finale. Few ever are. Some fans will be disappointed; I know some will be ragey, but on the face of it, I’m OK with where we end. I can live with it, with an asterisk we can discuss in my recap.

For the fans of the meta context that the show is so fond of, look for a few fun wink-nudges to past guest stars, the extended writing team, and the Piller family. Series co-creator Shawn Piller directs both episodes, and gives us some gorgeous, beautiful scenes that will be GIFd immediately. The song you’re going to be looking for tomorrow is “Love Is Rare” by Tom Day & Monsoonsiren.
Part one was written by Garbrielle Stanton, and part two was written by Matt McGuinness. The entire cast brings their A game. Five seasons in, Lucas Bryant can still break my heart with a catch in his voice. I want everybody back on other shows (that we can see in the U.S.) immediately.
Thanks so much for watching Haven with me. It’s one of the first shows we started writing about here at TV Goodness, so it’s special to us. Check back Friday for my recap.
The Haven series finale episodes, “Now” and “Forever” begin at 10/9c Thursday on Syfy and repeat immediately at midnight/11c. At press time they are NOT airing again this month. Triple-check those DVRs.

Dennis Heaton Talks The Imperfects
Longtime readers at TV Goodness will know that Motive is one of my ride-or-die series, and as such, I am fiercely loyal to its creator, Dennis Heaton. He followed up that fantastic reverse procedural with Netflix’s The Order and is back on our streaming screens with The Imperfects, which dropped…

Two Takes: The Catch “The Knock-Off”
Who can you trust? If this episode of The Catch was any indication, the answer is just about nobody. What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…
What Lucifer Said: Favorite quotes from Supernatural “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

What They Said: The Flash, “Legends Of Today” and Arrow, “Legends Of Yesterday”

What they Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Graceland “Little Bo Bleep”
Shoot outs. Fake outs. And long-awaited revelations. “Little Bo Bleep” was a jam-packed episode that wrapped up some loose ends and totally frayed others. Â It finally gave us one Sarkissian in jail and pulled back the curtain on Briggs’ master plan, but it also set up Jakes for a world…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
This finale better not be the same old song and dance where something bad happens to Audrey just like almost every season finale and the next season we have to wait like six eps to get her back.
LOL. There’s no next season, so there’s nothing to return to.
Are you sure this the satisfying ending or a rehash of every season finale?
It’s final. There’s mild rehash b/c the whole thing turns on who/what Audrey is, as in seasons past, but there’s no question where it ends up because this is the end. YMMV on the “satisfying.”
I was hoping it’s not a rehash from other season either-take Audrey from Nathan or he faces losing her due to painful situation or choice. I’m tired out from that. Love these two so much!
Farewell Haven. I will miss you.
