I’m not sure I’ll ever get tired of seeing a fictionalized version of Vogue’s Anna Wintour on my big or small screen. I enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada and I enjoyed “Dressed to Kill.” Before we get to the guest star goodness in this episode, let’s talk a bit about Kate and Rick.
So, it looks like they may have found their perfect wedding venue in the Cordova House. But Beckett’s too busy at work to take the tour, so Castle takes his mom. Let me take a moment to say how much I enjoyed Martha in this episode. She was (helpfully) torturing Beckett at the beginning by making her look at bridal magazines and, of course, could be relied upon to check out the venue when Beckett got too busy at work. Of course the venue was more popular than expected. So Beckett and Castle either have to wait until Fall 2015 or move the nuptials to this spring. When Kate freaked out, I got a little nervous. But it only makes sense that Beckett is thinking about her mom at a time like this. So when she agrees to move the wedding to the Spring, I was pleased. Just in time for sweeps! I can’t wait.
Also, can we talk about the wedding dress? I love the details from the waist up. From the waist down? Not my favorite (and that’s putting it mildly).
Guest Star Goodness

Frances Fisher as Matilda King. I like a strong woman who is at the top of her game and Matilda King is definitely that. If you aren’t doing your job, she has no qualms about firing you on the spot. She’s worked hard to gain the reputation she has and she’s not going to let anybody tear her down. But is she capable of murder? I love that Beckett has history with her and that she’s kind of trying to hide when she first goes to Matilda’s office. They had some really nice moments too, especially after Matilda was off the hook and helped ferret out the true killer. If you enjoyed this small screen turn my Frances Fisher, you can see her again in Resurrection. It premieres in March on ABC.
Rex Lee as Yumi. I have missed seeing Rex Lee on my TV screen. Unfortunately he’s not a regular on Suburgatory any more, but for me his best and most memorable role will always be as Lloyd on Entourage. In this episode, he plays a designer who is being featured as “one to watch†in Matilda’s magazine. The only problem? He stole his design from Matilda’s assistant. He’s got motive and opportunity, but he didn’t do it.

Rob Estes as Julian Bruckner. Shallow TV Alert! He is still hot. Super hot. Since he plays the fashion director of the most influential fashion magazine out there, of course he’s dressed beautifully. I love a man with a great sense of fashion. After the magazine was sold, Julian was gunning for Matilda’s job. He decided to make her look bad and even though Yumi claimed Julian knew about the true identity of the person behind his designs, Julian denies it. He’s going to take his chances with a jury. Can we take a moment to appreciate some of Rob’s past work? I’m talking about Silk Stalkings and Melrose Place, of course. Yes, he’s also guested on shows like Necessary Roughness and Psych recently. But my appreciation for him started with Silk Stalkings. Ah, the memories. And, of course, we can’t talk about good, trashy nighttime soaps without mentioning Melrose Place. Good times.
Castle airs Mondays at 10/9c on ABC.

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
The costume designer for CASTLE says the gown is made of antique fabric so it would cost around $30,000 to reproduce. That much money to make a gorgeous woman like Kate look like she has the hips of a woman who weighs 250 pounds. Brilliant.
Right? I love the antique look and I love the way the dress made Beckett feel. But the below the waist stuff is a mess!
Yeah, check out the interview here:
