UP Television has its first movie premiere of 2016 with Love Finds You In Valentine, the third film in the Love Finds You In series. Michaela McManus (Aquarius) stars opposite Diogo Morgado (The Messengers) in a sweet story about a young woman who inherits a horse ranch after her father dies and in the process unearths some long-held family secrets, and (of course) falls in love.

Screenwriter Bryar Freed continues with her third entry in the franchise and Terry Ingram (who also directs Hallmark Channel’s Anything For Love Sunday night) directs. Fan favorites Lindsay Wagner and Ed Asner also star.

Here’s the formal logline: L.A. law student Kennedy Blaine (Mcmanus) inherits a ranch in the small town of Valentine, Nebraska and travels there to sell it, but starts to feel at home on the picturesque ranch and with the ranch foreman, Derek Sterling (Morgado) and his mother (Wagner). She puts her life in L.A. on hold to spend more time in Valentine and finds herself pulled into her family’s unresolved history and a crooked attempt to undervalue the ranch.

I think this one is my favorite of the three in the series. It’s nice to see McManus in a romantic comedy, and she and Morgado have a really nice chemistry with each other as we learn more about Derek and why the ranch is as important to him as it is to Kennedy. It’s a lovely family-friendly Valentine movie, with a few moments of peril thrown in toward the end, but the overall story and lush scenery (that’s actually in the same Sugarcreek, Ohio region that’s been used on the two previous films) is a perfect balm for all the families snowed in this weekend.

If you’re looking for it later, the song at the beginning of the film is “Perfect Day” by Sophie Park.

Love Finds You In Valentine premieres Sunday at 7/6c on UP Television and repeats at 9/8c.

UPDATED: You can also buy the film on DVD beginning June  7th.
