Previewing From: “This Way Gone”

[Warning general spoilers ahead.]

This week’s From takes a break from the more horrific moments of last week’s episode and instead plumbs horrors of the emotional variety as Sara returns, Boyd searches for answers, and Jim’s got a theory. “This Way Gone” was written by John Griffin based on a story by him and Jeff Pinkner and directed by Alexandra La Roche.

FROM

Sara’s return puts Boyd in a difficult position and surfaces Kenny’s memories of his father while planting seeds of doubt about Boyd. Boyd seeks his own counsel with a variety of folks about his quest, his health, past mistakes, and what’s next.

FROM

The Matthews family has multiple threads as Ethan goes to see Victor and we’re reminded that they’re emotionally about the same age. Meanwhile, Tabitha seeks her own answers, Julie shares her new girl experience with Elgin, and Jim relays his troubling new theory about the town.

FROM

In another fun demonstration of pairing up new character mixes, Bakta and Jade commiserate on their respective backstories before they arrived, Tabitha meets Mariel, and Boyd meets Tilly.

FROM

Donna struggles to maintain control at Colony House when Randall’s behavior turns violent, and despite Fatima’s peacekeeping suggestion, Donna has another plan for how to deal with him.
