It’s officially one of our favorite times of the year: the Holiday TV Movie season! Joining the ranks of the Hallmark crowd for the first time ever is Days of Our Lives’ Drake Hogestyn aka John Black.
Hogestyn adorably stars in Christmas Tree Lane, a movie that unites two of Hallmark’s most well-known faces, Alicia Witt and Andrew Walker. Together these two have made a lot of holiday appearances on the Hallmark and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries landscape.
The Days actor plays Benjamin, Witt’s dad. The father and daughter own a music store on Christmas Tree Lane. Unfortunately, their business is threatened with eviction as is every shop and restaurant in the quaint shopping district where they’ve rented a space for decades.
It’s up to Witt and Walker’s characters to save the day and fall in love in the process. Benjamin is right there supporting his daughter and is quick to take up the fight as well.

Back in August, Hogestyn announced his foray into the Hallmark Channel universe via his Instagram account.
Recently, the daytime TV actor showed what it takes to create a lush, magical, snow-filled set that’s the staple of every family-friendly Hallmark flick.
Witt even commented on her co-star’s post:
If you watch Days, then you know how John Black always shows how much love he has for his family. His whole world is about loving and protecting his wife Marlena, his kids and everyone that comes into their circle. Well, Hogestyn brings that vibe to his Christmas Tree Lane character. The chemistry he has with Witt is just so cute and infectious.
In addition to the themes of family, love and Christmas joy, there’s a musical aspect to the movie courtesy of Witt, who executive produced the movie and contributed an original song. For more of a preview, Andrew Walker talked to our very own Heather M. about the experience.
Catch Drake Hogestyn when Christmas Tree Lane premieres tonight on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries at 10/9c. Oh and a heads up for soap fans: former All My Children, Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital actor Jacob Young makes a super quick appearance in the movie.
