It’s clear sailing ahead for the Starz (and Sony Pictures Television) series Outlander. The premium channel renewed the epic romance and adventure drama for two more seasons.
Here’s the rundown of what you need to know:
- Cast and crew are currently shooting season four, which is based on the Diana Gabaldon book, Drums of Autumn.
- That means seasons five and six are going to happen.
- Each season will consist of 12 episodes.
- Those 24 episodes will cover two more of Gabaldon’s novels, The Fiery Cross and A Breath of Snow and Ashes (here’s a tip: start reading now).
- Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht had this to say about the two-season extension:
Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire and Jamie will be back facing new challenges, adversaries and adventures in seasons five and six as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World
