Christmas Movies in November: Weekend Two

Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and UP Television keep the Christmas spirit going this weekend with five new premieres–two of them country music-themed–airing Saturday and Sunday night. Here’s a look at the latest November newbies to get you in the mood for the holiday season.

The Sweetest Christmas — Saturday, November 11th at 8/7c (Hallmark Channel)

Lacey Chabert reuintes with her All of My Heart Inn Love director Terry Ingram for her 9th Christmas film and 6th for Hallmark. This one has her back in the kitchen as a baker (see: both All of My Heart movies and Matchmaker Santa). Here she starts as newly single Kylie, who reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Nick (Queen Sugar‘s Lea Coco) and uses his restaurant kitchen to prepare for a gingerbread baking competition. They rekindle their affection and run into a complication when her ex, Alex, shows up, jeopardizing her new relationship and the contest.

A Song for Christmas — Saturday, November 11th at 9/8c (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries)

Glee‘s Becca Tobin stars as a country music songbird, Adelaide Kay who has a hit single, a faux tabloid romance, and a manager pushing her to record other people’s material.  When her tour bus stops in and then strands her in a small town, she meets guitar player, Dillon (Heartland‘s Kevin McGarry), a kindred spirit and potential songwriting partner.

Enchanted Christmas — Sunday, November 12th at 8/7c (Hallmark Channel)

Alexa PenaVega and Carlos PenaVega star in their third film for the network after Ms. Matched and Destination Wedding. Laura is a widowed project manager sent to her hometown to remodel a landmark hotel. Once there’s she runs into her long-ago dance partner, Ricardo, with whom she reconnects on and off the dance floor.

Engaging Father Christmas — Sunday, November 12th at 9/8c (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries)

This follow up to last year’s Finding Father Christmas (which airs immediately before the premiere at 7/6c) picks up a year later as Miranda (Erin Krakow) and Ian (Niall Matter) are planning their future, until she receives anonymous texts that threaten to upend her newfound family life and publicly expose the identity of her famous father.

A Very Country Christmas — Sunday, November 12th at 7/6c (UP Television)

Bitten and Somewhere Between‘s Greyston Holt stars as Zane, a country music star who leaves it all behind to get back to his roots and find his way back to what he really loves, and happens to find true love with single mom Jeanette (Bea Santos of Murdoch Mysteries aka The Artful Detective ) along the way.
