[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

We’re finally upon the Killjoys Season 3 premiere after an almost 10-month wait, and I am SO READY for these goofballs to be back on my TV every week. Our fearless trio–two together and one adjacent–waste no time at all jumping right back into the fray as we kick things off with “Boondoggie.”

Following Dutch’s proclamation that she wants a war, she enlists D’Avin and a merry team of misfits that includes Turin, Pree, Alvis, and Fancy (so much love for this reverse Charlie’s Angels) on that very mission. Johnny’s still across the galaxy, pursuing the Hackmods and finding an unlikely ally in Ollie (a very, very good addition to the cast in Bitten‘s Tommie-Ambier Pirie), who has her own reasons for joining his quest.

The premiere expands the universe a bit as we meet a larger community of Hackmods (more on that here) and get a clearer picture of who all Dutch might be declaring war against. We’re treated to a terrific balance of the show’s signature combination of cheeky dialogue, feisty, snarky hand-to hand combat, undercover sneak attacks, and gorgeous set pieces and costumes, with room for the emotional resonance and quiet moments they do so well as Dutch and D’Avin navigate being a duo while Johnny checks in but isn’t ready to come home.

In the middle of that, there’s some lovely insight into the Dutch and Johnny dynamic, including what they will and won’t ask of each other and the old wounds that Pawter and Khlyen’s death opened for them. It’s such a fantastic return for the series because it feels like we’ve lost no time at all with them and yet, they’ve grown so much since we first met them two summers ago. I love being along for the ride, and once again, I’m all in for another season of humor, heart, and putting the hurt on the bad guys.

Killjoys returns Friday at 8/7c on Syfy in the U.S. and Space Channel in Canada, and the live Tweet is always a good time, so come, join the silliness!

If you’ve missed an episode, or all of them–they’re online now at the Syfy Now App, iTunes, Amazon, You Tube, Google Play, and Xbox. It’s never too late to start–you have five days to binge through 20 45-minute episodes. Easy peasy. Here’s a sneak peek of Season 3!
