After back to back character-specific episodes, The Leftovers is back with an ensemble piece in “G’Day Melbourne,” and this one is chock full of action. Tensions are rising as Nora and Kevin make their way to Melbourne so Nora can continue her investigation into the groups claiming to be able to end people to the same place the departed went. Now that they’re in the same country, it seems like only a matter of time until Kevin reunites with his father, regardless of if he wants to.

“G’Day Melbourne” also is going to focus on both Nora and Kevin getting deeper into their “delusions,” godly or not. For Nora, it’s continuing an investigation she secretly wants to partake in, and for Kevin it’s being face to face with someone he never expected to see again. This episode is also going to delve into what is happening between Nora and Kevin, especially after the devastating scene “Don’t Be Ridiculous” when Nora finds Kevin suffocating himself. The truth is, these two were broken when the found each other, and they still aren’t fixed.

The Leftovers has been pointing to a switch in setting since the beginning of the season, and “G’Day Melbourne” finally makes the jump into moving our leads from Jarden to Australia. From here, we only have four more episodes left until the conclusion of the series. And with Matt and John’s “Book of Kevin” still influencing Kevin Sr.’s actions, there are still many questions to explore.

The Leftovers airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
