[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

Hallmark Channel wraps up its Spring Fling Saturday night with The Perfect Catch, which reunites Nikki DeLoach, Andrew Walker, and Lisa Durupt just four months after their first film together, A Dream of Christmas. This time around, DeLoach is Jessica, a divorced single mom trying to sustain her family’s hometown diner and raise her son. Walker is Chase, her ex from high school, a pro baseball player back in town to “lay low” and shake off an error at a playoff game that cost his team a series. Durupt is Jessica’s BFF, Nina.

Chase’s return coincides with the annual Spring Fling Festival, of which he and Jessica were King and Queen back in the day, so the timing brings forward a lot of unresolved feelings and awakens new ones. Add to that Chase starts spending time with Jessica when she looks outside the box to revitalize her restaurant, and her son, Wesley (Christmas List‘s Chance Hurstfield), when he needs a hand in learning the basics of baseball. Pretty soon, Chase has to decide which second opportunity is more important.

I’m glad to see Hallmark reuse ensembles that work–if you missed A Dream of Christmas, it’ll be back around in July–and y’all know that I adore Walker, so it’s fantastic to see him in his third film for the network in just the last four months (he did Love on Ice in January).

I love that Durupt is getting used all over the place at Hallmark, in addition to her recurring role on HMM’s Murder She Baked. DeLoach is really good here, too, and she, Walker, and Durupt have a fun energy together. I’d be perfectly OK if they just go together for a new film every year.

The Perfect Catch premieres Saturday at 9/8c on Hallmark Channel. Here’s a sneak peek.
