WARNING: Spoilers for Riverdale, Episode 7
Last week’s Riverdale was responsible for a couple of…intimate moments, shall we say?
Archie and Valerie shared a kiss! And so did Betty and Jughead. Sure, said kiss was followed up with Betty going all Nancy Drew on her partner-in-investigating-crime! But a kiss did happen.
When we visited the set of the CW series last month, Cole Sprouse (Jughead) talked about the already popular pairing.
In the below video, Lili Reinhart discussed how Betty and Jughead are there for each other. He was there for her in episode six. If you recall, Jughead went to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy with Betty, which is where she reunited with her sister who, shockingly, is pregnant with Jason Blossom’s child. On top of that, he was there when her mom showed up and also when, subsequently, Polly disappeared from the facility at the end of “Chapter 6: Faster, Pussycats. Kill! Kill!”
The Betty and Jughead closeness will continue in tonight’s episode, according to Reinhart. In fact, Betty will get to be there for Jughead.
Synopsis for “Chapter 7: In a Lonely Place”
THE SEARCH IS ON — When a major piece of evidence is mysteriously destroyed, new rumors begin to swirl as to who was really behind Jason’s murder. Tensions build when Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) father returns to the fray and it’s revealed that he and Fred (Luke Perry) have some unresolved issues between them. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) takes matters into her own hands after her fight with Hermione (Marisol Nichols). Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) approaches Betty (Lili Reinhart) with an unexpected proposal that leaves Betty torn. KJ Apa and Madchen Amick also star.
One more tease: One of our favorite Betty and Jughead moments so far takes place in this episode.
Congrats to the cast, crew as well as the show’s fans on finding out the series will be back for a second season. Watch the latest Riverdale tonight at 9/8c on the CW.
