It was Latin Night on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Joining the excitement for this particular theme was guest judge, Pitbull.

Since there was no elimination last week, the suspense was pretty high. Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews dropped good news and bad news on the dancers throughout the evening. They let the couples know who was safe and who was in jeopardy before they even got the chance to perform.

The first couple up had nothing to worry about: Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke. They were deemed safe. How did they do on their routine?
Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke
Dance: Salsa
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3411
I thought Ryan’s dancing was a bit awkward. Carrie Ann was right. Their musicality was off. I didn’t really like the dance and I’m a bit surprised they made it through to next week. On the positive side of things, at least he is putting the work in.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Pitbull-8, Julianne-8, Bruno-7; Total: 30
After the break, four more couples hit the walkway ready to hear the results. James and Sharna were safe. Same with Terra and Sasha. Amber and Maks were told they were in jeopardy while Marilu and Derek were safe.
Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber
Dance: Paso Doble
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3412

I enjoy Terra so much! Sasha is really the perfect partner for her but, also, she is amazing. I felt the judges were a little tough on her this week. I didn’t really agree with them because I thought even with her limitations, she made it look effortless.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Pitbull- 8, Julianne-8, Bruno-7; Total: 30
Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Cha Cha
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3401

After another difficult week in rehearsal, Amber did better, but she’s holding back a touch. She has the attitude but she is playing it safe. Maks wants her to succeed so he got frustrated. He knows that she hasn’t reached her potential. Carrie Ann said it best. She wants more from Amber. Everyone does!
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Pitbull-7 , Julianne-7, Bruno-7; Total: 28
James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Rumba
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3405

This was a beautiful dance. James is improving every week. Even though he doesn’t think he’s sexy, he was in this dance. Sharna and he were totally connected. I said before, he is a miracle since he didn’t know 18 months ago if he would ever walk again. Now he is dancing like it’s no big deal.
Score: Carrie Ann-10, Pitbull-9 ,Julianne-9, Bruno-10; Total: 38
Marilu Henner and Derek Hough
Dance: Cha Cha
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3408

She really looks more relaxed and has moved forward. I think she finally has gotten out of her head, which isn’t a surprise since Derek’s probably the best teacher she could have. He knows how to get the best out of his partners. I mean the guy does have six Mirrorball trophies!
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Pitbull- 9,Julianne-9, Bruno-8; Total: 34
It was time for the final four couples to find out who was safe and who was in jeopardy. Laurie/Val: safe. Calvin/Lindsay were told they were in jeopardy. Maureen/Artem were safe. Maureen was totally shocked. Jana/Gleb were in jeopardy. They were forced to dance after receiving the bad news.
Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko
Dance: Argentine Tango
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3406

Well, we know these two have the hottest chemistry on this show. This dance solidified that. I almost felt like I was watching real intimacy between two people. I think they took the various notes from the judges and really practiced watching what they needed to fix. By far this was their best dance and it was proven in the scores.
Score: Carrie Ann-10, Pitbull- 10,Julianne-10, Bruno-10; Total: 40
Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev
Dance: Samba
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3409

Maureen struggled in rehearsal again. I thought there was a small amount of mistakes. But, overall, she did okay. I’m nervous that Maureen is going to have a major breakdown, but she keeps plugging along.
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Pitbull- 7,Julianne-8, Bruno-8; Total: 31
Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Argentine Tango
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3403

Calvin really surprises me every week. His lifts are the best ever on the show. He improves every time and his chemistry with Lindsay is on point.
Score: Carrie Ann-9, Pitbull- 10, Julianne-9, Bruno-9; Total: 37
Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Salsa
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3407

Laurie is a bundle of energy and amazement. The girl is powerful. She had some minor mistakes but, even with mistakes, she’s one of the best dancers.
Score: Carrie Ann-9, Pitbull-9 ,Julianne-9, Bruno-10; Total: 37

Now for the elimination, which came down to Amber/Maks, Jana/Gleb and Calvin/Lindsay. The first one safe: Jana and Gleb.

It came down to Amber and Maks and Calvin and Lindsay.

The couple that left the competition: Amber & Maks.
It might be a while before Maks graces the ballroom again. In an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, he says he’s going to have other things keeping him busy when DWTS returns next season.
