WARNING: Mild Spoilers for Pitch

Emmy-winner Regina King focuses her considerable directing skills on tonight’s episode of FOX’s Pitch. This one’s mostly centered around baseball’s All-Star game. Yes, it’s the National League vs. the American League. The winning team gets bragging rights and home-field advantage in the World Series.

But these aren’t the stakes that matter in “The Break.” Forget the actual game. Ginny, Mike and Oscar have some serious business going on. So does Blip. Some questions:

  • The Padres’ newest star is simply a rookie. Where does that leave Ginny? In the thick of things? Or sitting at home? And how much is her mom’s visit going to affect things?

  • Lawson — and his bad knees — is thinking of the next phase of his career. What will that look like?

  • Oscar tries to get the jump on a new prospect for the Padres. Will he be successful?
  • Can Blip earn a spot on the All-Star team?

Without giving away too much, here’s what you can expect:

  • Flashbacks. Ginny’s dealing with mommy issues so the backstory between mother and daughter is much needed. That means Michael Beach makes another appearance. Heads up: please watch these closely. There’s a payoff that’s pretty cool
  • Cameos. There are a ton of sports cameos, including baseball players and commentators/analysts. Among the broadcasters grabbing some Pitch spotlight: Chris Myers, Dontrelle Willis, Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock.
  • Guest Star Goodness: Darius McCrary makes an appearance. He’s best known for Family Matters, of course. But his small screen credits also include The Leftovers, Minority Report and The Young and the Restless.
  • Awkward moments for all…Ginny’s not the only one experiencing tense situations. Mike and Blip are, too.
  • A really adorable final scene of the episode. That’s all we’re going to say.
