The second week of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars celebrated TV theme songs. After last week’s drama, it was a fun way to go. Did the couples improve? Will your favorites still be your favorites? Are the judges being too hard or not hard enough when it comes to the celebrity dancers? How did last week’s incident in the ballroom affect everyone, especially Ryan Lochte?
Let’s see how our dancers did:
NIGHT ONE
Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev
Dance: Quickstep
TV Theme Song: Brady Bunch
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3409

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! I thought this Quickstep was a much better dance for Maureen this week. She didn’t seem nervous. They brought out Florence Henderson a.k.a. Mama Brady to help capture the nostalgia. Maureen needs to work on her chemistry with Artem. But, overall, it was a better dance than Week 1. Will it be enough to keep her around another week?
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-6, Julianne-6, Bruno-7; Total: 26
Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko
Dance: Tango
TV Theme Song: Gavin DeGraw’s “I Don’t Wanna Be†from One Tree Hill
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3406

After suffering a major injury during the week, Jana came out and did her thing. The doctor didn’t want her to dance but she did. The chemistry is still very hot between Jana and Gleb. Her injury hindered her dancing a bit but will she be physically able to carry on with the competition? Only time will tell.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-8, Julianne-7, Bruno-7; Total: 29
Gov. Rick Perry and Emma Slater
Dance: Quickstep
TV Theme Song: Green Acres
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3410

Gov. Perry needs to definitely work on his footwork and technique. He gave it his all and had fun. He might be the one to go home this week but anything can happen on DWTS.
Score: Carrie Ann-6, Len-5, Julianne-6, Bruno-5; Total: 22
Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Foxtrot
TV Theme Song: Family Matters
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3403

Calvin has a smile that lights up a room. As Carrie Ann said, he is so darn cute. You can see his dance this week is even better than the last. He is a joy to watch. I also agree with Julianne that he is going to improve every week. Oh and guess who surprised Calvin? None other than Family Matters star Jaleel White aka Steve “Did I do that?” Urkel. If you don’t know who Steve Urkel is Google it.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-7, Julianne-7, Bruno-7; Total: 28
Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Viennese Waltz
TV Theme Song: Game of Thrones
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3401

Amber listened to the judges’ feedback. I thought she did very well. She had a bit of a problem with the floor being slippery, but she was much more confident this week. And let’s just say Maks looked hot as Khal Drago from GOT! Not as hot as Jason Momoa but still hot.
Score: Carrie Ann-6, Len-6, Julianne-6, Bruno-6; Total: 24
Jake T. Austin and Jenna Johnson
Dance: Cha Cha
TV Theme Song: Go Diego Go!
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3404

I thought Jake was out of step with the music. Even though he was more confident this week, he still had trouble keeping time. I feel like Jake doesn’t take criticism too well. He either needs to change his attitude or he is going home.
Score: Carrie Ann-6, Len-6, Julianne-6, Bruno-6; Total: 24
Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson
Dance: Foxtrot
TV Theme Song: “Love and Marriage†from Married With Children
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3413

Witney had no idea what Married with Children was. How crazy is that? But thanks to YouTube, they did the characters well. He is a bit rough around the edges. Witney made sure there was more content and he now he just has to work on his elegance and smoothness.
Score: Carrie Ann-6, Len-7, Julianne-6, Bruno-7; Total: 26
Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber
Dance: Quickstep
TV Theme Song: Bewitched
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3412

Terra comes out again and slays! She talked about how difficult it is for her but she made it work. She was in hold; she was in time and did the steps. Sasha is doing a fantastic job. I think Terra is one of the people to watch out for!
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-7, Julianne-8, Bruno-8; Total: 31
Kenny “Babyface†Edmonds and Allison Holker
Dance: Argentine Tango
TV Theme Song: The X-Files
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3402

Babyface did a great job. He talks about how shy he is but he came out of his shell. I would say that his musicality serves him well with his dancing. He’s a wild card in my eyes right now but if he keeps going down this path, we might be seeing him in the finals!
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-7, Julianne-7, Bruno-8; Total: 30
Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Jive
TV Theme Song: Ducktales
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3407

Laurie Hernandez is adorbs! She is a force of nature. She’s a smiling, happy kid. As of this moment, we can probably consider her the best dancer in the competition. But remember: the best dancer doesn’t always win. She has to continue on her journey and keep on raising the stakes.
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-8, Julianne-8, Bruno-8; Total: 32
James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Paso Doble
TV Theme Song: The Walking Dead
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3405

James was a little bit stiff when he danced. But he is right in sync with Sharna. He just needs to soften up a bit. But he is on his way.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-7, Julianne-7, Bruno-8; Total: 29
Marilu Henner and Derek Hough
Dance: Foxtrot
TV Theme Song: Taxi
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3408

I thought it was a beautiful dance. Marilu is graceful and really can move. Having Derek as a partner only makes a person better. Another wild card pair, but they make it work.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-8, Julianne-7, Bruno-7; Total: 29
Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke
Dance: Quickstep
TV Theme Song: The Muppet Show
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3411

There were a lot of mistakes but he was fun. Ryan came back from last week, which would derail most people. Because he has a swimmer’s back, he tends to hunch so they have to work on his posture. I’m not sure what is going to happen with Ryan but he is trying to do his best.
Score: Carrie Ann-6, Len-6, Julianne-6, Bruno-6; Total: 24
NIGHT TWO

Night two consisted of showing behind the scenes action. There were two amazing dances by the pros and some singing. But what it came down to is who was safe and who was in jeopardy.
The first two couples that were safe: Laurie & Val and Rick & Emma. These two couples were the top and bottom of the leader board. So who would be in trouble?
The next couple that was told they were safe was Marilu and Derek.
The first couple in jeopardy was Maureen and Artem.
Babyface and Allison were also told they were safe.
Ryan and Cheryl were in jeopardy.
The next two couples that were safe: Calvin & Lindsay and Vanilla Ice and Witney.
Also performing next week: James and Sharna.
Jake and Jenna were told they were in jeopardy.
The next result that came in: Terra and Sasha were safe.
Amber and Maks were in jeopardy.
Jana and Gleb were safe.
It came down to four couples in jeopardy: Maureen & Artem, Amber & Maks, Jake & Jenna and Ryan & Cheryl. The first of these four couples that were safe: Maureen and Artem. Also safe were Amber and Maks.

It came down to Jake & Jenna and Ryan & Cheryl. The first couple to be eliminated:

Jake and Jenna. I think I’m okay with this.

He didn’t seem to have the best attitude and he couldn’t hide it.
