It’s Disney Night! Zendaya, former runner-up from Season 16 was a guest host and was able to give the celebrities thoughts from a former competitor. The only hokey thing about were the goofy (no pun intended) bits they have the contestants do. You know what I’m talking about. They come across a little cheesy. All of the dancers really put their best feet forward and try really hard.
We’re currently in Week 4. So far, this is shaping up to be an interesting race. But did the teams show up strong on Disney night? Here is how the couples did:
Antonio Brown and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Jazz
Disney Film: Aladdin
Phone Number: 800-868-3401
- Antonio did the dance and it was good. But that was about it. It was fun but I didn’t feel like it made me pay attention. Sharna is pushing him but I think he needs to go further. The judges seem a tad generous with the scores, but the athlete is listening to what they are saying.
Score: Carrie Ann-9, Len-8, Zendaya-9, Bruno-9; Total: 35
Marla Maples and Tony Dovolani
Dance: Waltz
Disney Film:The Little Mermaid
Phone Number: 800-868-3407
- I think dances like these are to Marla’s strengths. This is her best dance so far. She shows how elegant she moves and flows through the dance.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-7, Zendaya-7, Bruno-7; Total: 28
Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd
Dance: Samba
Disney Film: Tarzan
Phone Number: 800-868-3409
- How this guy stays to the beat, stays in character and has fun is beyond me. We are seeing a miracle. He had a little tiny bit of an off moment in the beginning but this guy is cranking out solid and fantastic performances.
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-8, Zendaya-9, Bruno-9; Total: 34
Doug Flutie and Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Jazz
Disney Film: Mary Poppins
Phone Number: 800-868-3402

- Doug struggled with this dance. He was in his own head and was a bit off. I think it rattled him. He did get into the character as Len said. Not great scores, but Tom shared that this couple’s safe. I’m pretty sure everyone freaked out backstage.
Score: Carrie Ann-6, Len-6, Zendaya-6, Bruno-6; Total: 24
Kim Fields and Sasha Farber
Dance: Quickstep
Disney Film: Jungle Book
Phone Number: 1-800-868-3406
- The Quickstep is the hardest dance and Kim nailed it. She also looked like she was having the best time! Sasha and Kim work very well together. You can see their partnership resonate throughout the performance.
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-8, Zendaya-8, Bruno-8; Total: 32
Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe
Dance: Cha Cha
Disney Film: Zootopia
Phone Number: 800-868-3405
- She messed up a little bit and it’s because she is really self-conscious. She said she couldn’t hear the music. I still thought she did fantastic with the mess-ups. She’s got to trust her partner and trust herself.
Score: Carrie Ann-7, Len-6, Zendaya-7, Bruno-7; Total: 27
Von Miller and Witney Carson
Dance: Viennese Waltz
Disney Film: Cinderella
Phone Number: 800-868-3411

- This was the most elegant that Von has been. He improved since last week. He was graceful and you can tell what a competitive spirit he has. Witney looked like Cinderella!
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-8, Zendaya-8, Bruno-8; Total: 32
Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Foxtrot
Disney Film: Beauty and The Beast
Phone Number: 800-868-3404

- This was Ginger’s best dance and Zendaya said it best: it was like a Broadway Show. I’m starting to get on the Ginger bandwagon.
Score: Carrie Ann-9, Len-9, Zendaya-9, Bruno-9; Total: 36
Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Samba
Disney Film: Lion King
Phone Number: 800-868-3412

- Wanya = Magnificent! He was determined to win and he came out and made it happen. What makes Wanya shine is that he can take criticism from the judges and even get better.
Score: Carrie Ann-8, Len-9, Zendaya-9, Bruno-9; Total: 35
Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas
Dance: Quickstep
Disney Film: Toy Story
Phone Number: 800-868-3410

- It was clean and creative. This is a girl I didn’t think would be such a dancer, but she keeps proving me wrong.
Score: Carrie Ann-9, Len-9, Zendaya-9, Bruno-9; Total: 36
After all the dances were complete we found out that the first couple in jeopardy was Marla and Tony, and then Jodie and Keo. The remaining couples were safe to go onto next week.

But in the end, the couple that went home was Marla and Tony.
