WARNING: Spoilers

Are you on board the 12 Monkeys express train yet? I am. Earlier this summer, I binged the entire first season in a weekend. It is amazing what the cast and crew were able to accomplish in 13 episodes. The producers/writers had to blend so many elements, the biggest of which was time travel. They managed to execute this aspect of the series so seamlessly. My head didn’t hurt too much from all the jumping from one era to another. I call that a win. Add an electric cast, thought-provoking stories and some seriously good drama to the equation and you easily have one of the best series currently airing on Syfy.

Unfortunately, 12 Monkeys is smack dab in the middle of a painful hiatus. However, there’s no need to angst over it just yet. I’m happy to report I was able to talk to the cast and a couple of the executive producers at Comic-Con 2015. There they reflected on the wildly entertaining first season and teased what to expect when the show returns in 2016.

Aaron Stanford on Season 2. He touches on: the Ramse/Cole tumultuous relationship; his character being a torture magnet and whether Cole will be healthier; on the time travel situation for Cole.

Amanda Schull talks Cassie living in another time; where the action in Season 2 picks up; how difficult things will be for Cassie when the show returns; working with some of the other female actresses in S2 (Sukowa and Hampshire); being fairly new to the scifi world.

Barbara Sukowa on getting a chance to act opposite Amanda and Emily in Season 2; on S2 time travel; playing 30 years younger in a Season 1 episode; the show’s set design; and the conflict the characters often had to play out between one vs. the good of many.
