Even though Demelza comes from a humble background, the young bride finds herself struggling in her new role as Mistress of Nampara.

Not to worry, Demelza will learn how to become a lady. Ross implores his cousin Verity (Ruby Bentall) to teach his better half, the finer ways of life.

The scenes between Demelza and Verity are simply delightful. In fact, Demelza shares a secret with her new cousin-in-law, which will impact the newlyweds’ future.

While Demelza and Ross continue to find pleasure in each other, Francis (Kyle Soller) and Elizabeth (Heida Reed) struggle to keep their marriage afloat. The death of his father, Charles (Warren Clarke) pushes Francis further to the edge. His jealousy, gambling and philandering has Elizabeth wondering if she picked the right Poldark for a husband.
