WARNING: Spoilers for HBO’s Silicon Valley

Season 2 of HBO’s Silicon Valley is killing it as it continues to follow Richard and the Pied Piper gang as they try to succeed in business. Twists and obstacles are constantly thrown in their way and it’s fun to just sit back and watch how awkwardly and quickly the characters deal with each situation yet somehow figure out a way to come out on top….most of the time.

Only Bag Head could rise to a position of power at Hooli and have no clue why. Last episode, he was unbelievably named Co-Head Dreamer along with a brilliant professor. He’s the perfect pawn thanks to Gavin Belson’s latest machinations. That man is such an opportunistic douche. But he’s a smart douche. How far is Belson willing to go in order to make things difficult for his competition? He knows he needs Pied Piper to triumph. After watching tonight’s episode, it’s more clear than ever.

Synopsis for “Server Space”: Gavin’s (Matt Ross) interference causes Pied Piper to struggle with securing their expansion, while a nosy neighbor puts the guys at risk. Gilfoyle takes on the task of building servers, and an overstressed Richard reluctantly takes in Jared as a roommate. Big Head’s management skills are questioned, and Nucleus’ debut zeroes in on a big event.

Teases/Thoughts

Richard’s stress levels are high and his body is paying the price.

Pied Piper is on the move. Sit back and watch how many issues get in the way of that move.

Richard and Erlich’s relationship continues to be tested. Yes, Erlich is obnoxious. He’s often out for his own gain. And, yes, he cuts corners and lies about it. He gets high all the time. He also believes his own hype to the nth degree. But does he serve a purpose? Is he a true friend to Richard? What goes on between these two in “Server Space” is pretty interesting. Their relationship can be infuriating and antagonistic but, in our opinion, there’s substance there. These two just have to figure that out.

A couple of things about Jared come to light including something he does in his sleep.

Gilfoyle and Dinesh will never get along, will they? They are a bromance without the romance part. Gilfoyle takes on a huge job. But when Dinesh wants in…things get complicated.

One of Hooli’s projects shows promise but in only the most twisted and hilarious way possible. We’ll just say it has to do with an animal and leave it there. You’ll know what we’re talking about.

Congratulations to the show on its nominations for the upcoming Critics’ Choice Television Awards, which air live on A&E on Sunday, May 31. Silicon Valley is up for three awards: Best Comedy; Best Actor in a Comedy (Thomas Middleditch); Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy (T.J. Miller).

Silicon Valley airs Sundays on HBO at 10/9c.
