On the eve of its first season finale, Hallmark Channel this morning ordered a second season of Good Witch with Catherine Bell, James Denton and Bailee Madison. The order includes two episodes for Fall 2015 (maybe Halloween-ish?) and 10 hours that will follow in early 2016.

The renewal was pretty much a lock because the series has been a ratings winner, outshining anything else the network has put in that time period. Keep an eye on social media this week – Bell and Denton are in Cannes for the Marché International des Programmes de Télévision (MIPTV), the world’s largest TV and digital content market and creative forum.

Here’s what Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks, had to say this morning:

“Our viewers have fallen in love with Catherine Bell and her enchanting journey, as well as her talented co-stars, James Denton and Bailee Madison. After seeing the tremendously overwhelming response to the series, there was no question that Good Witch would be renewed for a second season. “I am also delighted to announce that Cassie Nightingale will bring her essence and magical charms this Fall with a special 2-hour presentation as an early treat to our beloved fans.”

The two-hour first season finale airs Saturday at 8/7c. Check back later this week for a preview.
