Secrets and Lies returns Sunday after a week off for Easter with an episode that swizzles the focus back to Cornell.

“The Confession” had things get very scary for Ben in a hot hurry when his neighbor, Kevin, was revealed as the stalker. He’d apparently witnessed Ben’s tryst with Jess all those years ago and externalized his own rage at his wife for having cheated on him while he was deployed.

Here’s what we can expect in “The Cop” — Ben visits a prison inmate who provides information that might prove Detective Cornell is pushing the boundaries of the law. With the “help” of Arthur Fenton, Ben attempts to bring Cornell down, but an anonymous tip puts the spotlight back on Ben as the prime suspect, and the Crawford family finally collapses under the strain.

And here’s a sneak peek. Secrets and Lies airs at 9/8c on ABC.

Sidebar — I assumed this was a one-and-done type of show, but Deadline posited this week that it’s done well enough it may see a renewal, focused on another case, which would be sort of a bummer because I’m digging Philippe, but maybe this gig will land him on another series come fall.
