[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

Y’all know that I LOVE the Garage Sale Mystery movies, and Saturday night, we get the third installment as Jennifer is called into action to investigate the mysterious death of her friend in a house that has a deadly history.

Lori Loughlin headlines again, and her merry band of playmates–Sarah Strange, Steve Bacic, Brendan Meyer, and  Kevin O’Grady–all return. Jennifer’s daughter, Hannah, who was played by Sara Canning in the first film, is back, but is now played by Eva Bourne (When Calls the Heart). In a trifecta of Continuum goodness, the guest cast include Richard Harmon (Julian), Janet Kidder (Alec’s mom), and Gabrielle Rose (Kiera’s mom). Also starring is familiar face David Lewis, who we last saw in Intruders. Peter DeLuise directs a script by Walter Klenhard.

Capitalizing on the great chemistry they had in the second film last fall, “The Deadly Room” puts Jennifer and Logan together to figure out the crime, and he has a side arc about a school dance that’s very sweet. Thankfully, we do not have Dani repeat being imperiled by bad romantic choices. We spend a lot of time in Jennifer and Dani’s shop but there’s no actual “garage sale” in this one.

I thought I knew the howdunnit, and I was close, but the who was a surprise. I enjoyed it a lot. I’m so glad these movies have ben consistently good, and that they fall right back into the familiar, fun, easy cadences. I adore that Jennfer’s home life with her family, and especially her son, is written so well.
