Hallmark Movies & Mysteries launches the next spoke in its Mystery Wheel series with A Bone To Pick: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery, airing Saturday night.

Starring Candace Cameron Bure in the title role, the film is the first in a planned series about a sleuthy librarian who likes to solve true crime mysteries. When a sudden inheritance plops an actual true crime in her lap, she leaps at the opportunity to find out what happened.

Fleshing out the cast are Marilu Henner as Aurora’s mom, Continuum‘s Lexa Doig as her BFF, Stephen Huszar (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce) as a new love interest (courtesy of mom), Sonya Salomaa (Intruders) and Dan Payne (Strange Empire) as her new neighbors, and Peter Benson (Hell on Wheels) and Miranda Frigon (A Cookie Cutter Christmas) as Aurora’s ex-boyfriend and his very pregnant new wife.

It’s a fun yarn in the same vein as the Garage Sale Mystery movies (we get a new one of those next Saturday), based on the series of books written by True Blood‘s Charlaine Harris. Martin Wood, who handles director duties on Cedar Cove, directs (and helmed the just-wrapped second film). The book was adapted by Teena Booth, who’s written several films for Lifetime.

The movie airs Saturday at 9/8c in simulcast on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries–which is smart, because some cable providers tier those networks differently. Here’s a sneak peek:
