[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
I’m a little confused on the titles for this show because I’d assumed last week’s “The Affair” would actually get into the details of Ben’s affair (or one night stand) with Jess. Instead, it covered Ben’s deep dive into paranoia as his family attended the most awkward neighborhood Christmas party ever and he found out his teen daughter had a pregnancy scare, and then went full on ragey when his BFF spent the night with her–even though he says nothing happened.
Tonight looks like it might be the episode I expected last week, but it’s called “The Sister.” As we now know, Jess’s sister is a stellar human being because she was sleeping with Jess’s violent almost ex-husband, however I think the title refers to Tom’s sister/Ben’s daughter.
Here’s what to expect: Ben uncovers the truth about Natalie’s whereabouts two nights before Tom died when she supposedly was babysitting the young boy, leading Ben to confront his neighbors, Dr. and Vanessa Richardson. After learning about the strange circumstances surrounding the death of their son, a suspicious Ben is convinced that they possibly were involved in Tom’s death. Cornell confirms the murder weapon and then springs another bombshell on Ben, who still can’t recall his actions the night Tom died.
