[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]

Once again, the return of Bates Motel makes me realize how much I’ve missed it. We’re back for season three (which seems impossible, right?) Monday night with an episode that jumps a few months past Norman’s polygraph.

Norma, Norman, and Dylan have spent an idyllic summer at home, recovering from all that transpired at the end of last season. Norman’s about to start his senior year, and he and Norma have grown closer in ways that make Dylan uncomfortable enough to say something to Norma about it.

The fairly full hour also has:

  • Norma receiving news from home that resonates deeper than she expected.
  • Dylan rethinking his future.
  • A new guest (Revolution‘s Tracy Spiridakos) at the motel who unintentionally pushes Norman’s buttons.
  • The return of Caleb (Kenny Johnson), still trying to broker some sort of peace with Dylan.
  • Norman making a decision about Emma.
  • Emma’s friend Gunner (Keenan Tracey — who is also in The Returned) back in town, but Remo (played by Keenan’s dad, Ian Tracey), isn’t — supposedly because of the DEA’s arrival. I’m hoping there’s a “yet” in there.
