Warning: Spoilers Ahead

We’re still not over Beth’s death. We thought a few months of mourning might help take the edge off, but it hasn’t. And while we’ve had some time to come to gripes with this loss, the group hasn’t. It’s still fresh for them and we’re hoping it doesn’t lead to some poor decisions. Either way, we’re curious to see what’s next for the group and what else they’ll face on the road to wherever they’re headed next.

Episode synopsis, from AMC:

After facing all of the recent trials, a slight detour may offer the solution that the group has been seeking.

Well, since that description is wildly vague, here’s a few questions we’re hoping will get answered in this episode or sometime before season 5 ends:

  • How will Beth’s death affect Maggie? Now that all her family is dead (except Glenn, of course), will that changes things?
  • What is Eugene’s role in the group now? Of course, not everyone knows he’s a liar (yet). But once they do, will he stay or be expelled?
  • Is Father Gabriel a good addition to the group? We know they aren’t in the business of leaving people behind and helping Michonne, Carl and Judith escape the church probably helped redeem him a little. But still.
  • Will Morgan Jones catch up and/or join the group?
  • We all know the season (probably) won’t end without at least one major death, so who do you think is the next to die?

Season 5 of The Walking Dead returns Sunday, February 8th at 9/8c on AMC.
