Dogs & Cats

Animal Planet rolls out its 11th annual Puppy Bowl at 3 pm/2c and Hallmark Channel counters with its second Kitten Bowl beginning at Noon/11c. If you’re uninitiated, it’s exactly what it sounds like–puppies and kittens are unleashed to frolic for several hours on a faux gridiron–and the network websites have the athlete bios, Fantasy League picks, behind the scenes videos, and more.

Trashy TV Movie Goodness

Over the years, Lifetime and LMN have premiered “X at 17” movies that all present some sort of dire situation for a 17 year-old girl, or her parents/mom, or both. LMN will run five of them back to back Sunday starting at 9 am/8c. Look for The 100‘s Marie Avgeropoulos and Arrow’s newest mayor, Christina Cox, in Fugitive at 17, one of the better films in the set, at Noon/11c

Cheesy TV Movie Goodness

Syfy will be running movies all day from the “Mega” and “vs.” series of catastrophe/abominable critters/apocalyptic films beginning at 8 am/7c.

Jamie Dornan

We’re two weeks out from the 50 Shades of Grey takeover, so why not mainline Jamie Dornan in the second season of British import The Fall, available now on Netflix. Spoiler alert: Dornan plays a VERY BAD guy, but it’s very well done.

Series Marathons

AMC marathons the first and second seasons of The Walking Dead in the Zombie Bowl starting at 9 am/8c and WGN America airs How I Met Your Mother all day starting at Noon/11c.
