Our newest TV addiction is HBO’s Looking. After a quick season one binge, we’re ready for season two. The series continues to focus on the lives of three friends: Patrick, Agustín and Dom.

Official Synopsis for Season 2: Patrick is on the verge of a new relationship that could complicate life at work and home, even as he tries to salvage a friendship from an old one. Agustín, still floundering from his own breakup, leaves old aspirations behind while making a new connection. Dom continues to pursue his restaurant dreams, but encounters obstacles at every turn.

Three of last season’s recurring actors are back as series regulars. And we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Raul Castillo plays Richie, Patrick ex-boyfriend. Richie and Patrick attempt to reconnect at the beginning of season two. Will they keep things firmly in the friend zone? Or are they destined to be more?

Russell Tovey plays Kevin, Patrick’s boss. One of the most interesting things about season two is the dynamic that exists between boss and employee. Can it ever be more? And if it can, just how messy are things going to get? After all, Kevin has a significant other. By the way, is it just us or has Tovey gotten even hotter since starring on Being Human UK?

Lauren Weedman returns as Doris, Murray’s vocal roommate and best bud. She actually gets more to do this season which is very much welcome.

Quick Assessment of Season Two

We don’t want to give too much away about season two. What you need to know is that it’s even more addictive than the first season. The characters are all going through a journey. They’re not always going to be likable. They’re not always going to make the decisions that you think they should make. But you relate to them and sometimes even empathize with them. Jonathan Groff‘s Patrick gets infinitely more interesting because he doesn’t seem so perfect all the time. There’s also more depth to Agustín (Frankie J. Alvarez). He’s not as hard to root for as he was last season. Our favorite storyline remains Dom’s struggles to create his own restaurant and his relationship with Scott Bakula‘s Lynn. Dom is the oldest of the friends and you can really see he’s trying to grow up and make something of himself. He’s trying to make a good life for himself. But he still is the Dom we know and love. Murray Bartlett‘s pretty incredible on this show.

Synopsis for the Season 2 Premiere “Looking for the Promised Land”: Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Agustín (Frankie J. Alvarez) and Dom (Murray Bartlett) head to Russian River to stay at Lynn’s (Scott Bakula) weekend cabin for relaxation and bonding. Though Patrick wants to lay low, the guys end up at a bacchanalian party in the woods after running into a Faerie. Meanwhile, Patrick mulls over what he wants from his life in the city, and Dom looks for clues in the house about Lynn’s old life.

The ten-episode second season of Looking airs Sundays at 10/9c on HBO.
