Just a week after Hallmark Channel’s successful premiere of Northpole was watched by almost six million viewers, the network has announced casting for a sequel. The film, set to air in 2015, will star When Calls the Heart‘s Lori Loughlin opposite a returning Bailee Madison.
In Northpole 2, Loughlin will play a woman who receives some unexpected Christmas cheer and magic from a team of elves headed by the cheerful Clementine (Madison) from the first film.
In pairing Loughlin and Madison, the film will unite two key players on the network. In addition to When Calls the Heart, which is in production now on its second season, Loughlin also headlines the Garage Sale Mystery movie series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Madison has been a film fixture on the network for a few years, and she is part of the cast of The Good Witch series, which is shooting its first season now and will air on Hallmark Channel in 2015.
