Last week on Nashville, most of the crew landed back in Music City and everyone fast-forwarded two months.

Luke and Rayna try to have a quiet family weekend after not seeing each other for months, but a Rolling Stone reporter tags along to interview Rayna for the cover. And their weekend really blows up when Ruke and Rolling Stone walk in on Maddie and Colt, just weeks away from becoming step-siblings, making out. To keep the reporter from exposing the family drama, she gives him the back story of her relationship with Deacon Claybourne.

Juliette and Avery are fumbling their way into a co-parenting relationship while Gunnar unwittingly becomes a full-time dad to Micah when his mother, Kiley, packs her car and heads west leaving her son behind.

Will Lexington comes home from tour to find a much more collected Layla and the two seem to form a truce. But when they see the premiere of their reality show, it becomes clear Layla will be depicted as an airhead newlywed.

This Wednesday, everyone’s heading to the CMAs. The competition between Luke and Rayna is tough enough, but feelings get amped when Rayna stumbles across a pre-nup! Can they put on a smile for the cameras? Avery’s parents are in town for the CMAs but things could get complicated when they meet the mother of their future grandchild. Can the precarious peace between Layla and Will hold up? And who will take home the coveted “Entertainer of the Year” award? Trisha Yearwood, Joe Nichols and The Band Perry guest star as themselves. And Nashville‘s very own Eric Close directs the episode.

Here’s a sneak peek:

Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
