[Warning: General spoilers ahead.]
We have a while yet before When Calls the Heart is back on Hallmark Channel, but to tide you over, Erin Krakow drops into the network’s Countdown to Christmas, headlining A Cookie Cutter Christmas. A sweet confection about a young teacher caught up in a rivalry with a fellow instructor and drawn to the single dad of one of her students, the film embraces the themes of forgiveness and moving on.
Starring along with Krakow are: Miranda Frigon (Primeval: New World), David Haydn-Jones (Mistresses), Laura Soltis (Wedding Planner Mystery and Recipe for Love), Alan Thicke, and Jill Morrison (When Calls the Heart).
Here’s the formal logline: Two longtime rivals and elementary school teachers duke it out during the holidays in a Christmas cookie bake-off, but their real feud ignites over a shared interest in a handsome single dad. With both determined to win the prize and the romance, their competitiveness could jeopardize what matters most this Christmas season.
It’s nice to have Krakow back on our TVs while we await the return of Elizabeth Thatcher. She and Haydn-Jones are good together here, and she and Frigon look like they’re having a blast one-upping each other.
A Cookie Cutter Christmas premieres Sunday at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel. Here are a couple of sneak peeks.
