WARNING: Spoilers for Grimm Season 4
Grimm is back! Grimm is back! Season 4 kicks off tonight. The show has so many precarious situations to tackle. Like a Nick without his powers. Renard on death’s door. And a desperate Adelind who just wants to be reunited with her baby.
Here’s the lowdown on everything you need to know about the season premiere. OK, not everything. We’re not looking to spoil things for you. But we do have a couple cast interviews, photos from the episode and video previews.

NBC Synopsis for “Thanks for the Memories”: NICK MUST LEARN TO COPE WITH HIS NEW REALITY AS A NEW WESEN HITS PORTLAND TO STEAL ITS VICTIMS MEMORIES – ELIZABETH RODRIGUEZ, LOUISE LOMBARD, ALEXIS DENISOF AND JACQUELINE TOBONI GUEST STAR – After the events at Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee’s (Bree Turner) wedding, Nick (David Giuntoli) is faced with losing his identity as a Grimm. Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) join Nick as they try to figure out how to deal with Trubel (guest star Jacqueline Toboni) as she faces the consequences of a heinous murder she committed. Meanwhile, when Wu (Reggie Lee) arrives at the scene, his discoveries bring back images of his traumatic encounter. A new threat arrives in Portland to steal the memories of its victims, leaving them in a state of dementia. Elsewhere, Captain Renard’s (Sasha Roiz) life hangs in the balance and Adalind (Claire Coffee) falls into Prince Viktor’s (guest star Alexis Denisof) trap as she desperately searches for her baby.
The big, big story is the fact Nick has lost his powers. He’s no longer a Grimm. TV Goodness got the chance to be part of a press call featuring Nick Burkhardt himself, David Giuntoli. As expected, there was a lot of talk about how Nick is going to deal with his new predicament.

Nick’s life changes and that’s terrifying for him because he can no longer see threats
David Giuntoli: It’s very terrifying on that level. And it’s also just difficult on a human level. Because he had this identity. And it’s no longer attached to him. It’s like he lost an important job. It’s like he lost, you know, it’s just he’s no longer the thing he thought – his whole reason for living was to battle these Wesen and fight these, you know, he had the rare blood to be able to see evil. And it’s gone.
Nick will have to find other ways to deal with the Wesen
David: [Nick’s]Â kind of enjoying his new normalcy, I think, in a lot of ways. But he also knows that the Wesen are out there. So first and foremost he’s going to be using Trubel as his seeing eye Grimm. He is going to be tapping Monroe — which he used to do — tapping on his shoulder quite a bit. He’s going to be using his team of Wesen and Grimms to try to do what he used to be able to do. But he doesn’t have his powers anymore, and that means that not only can he not see the Wesen, he’s just not as powerful as he was.
He’ll have to solve crimes the old school way
David:Â He has to focus on being a cop again. He used to solve crimes without having blatant tells as to who did this. So now, he has to remember why – remember that he was a good detective and start solving cases the old-fashioned way. Through evidence.
Nick might not have his powers but there’s something else he’ll be dealing withÂ
David: Adalind and Nick are now connected in some magical — horrible — way. I don’t know if I can say why. I certainly can’t say how this all ends. Juliette – well, let’s see. What’s going on.
We talked to Sasha Roiz at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. He couldn’t say much since his character is in danger of dying but it was fun to ask him about it anyway.
