Continuum and The 100‘s Richard Harmon switches gears tonight for UP Television in If I Had Wings, a family film about overcoming high school adversity.

Here’s the synopsis: Seventeen year old Alex Taylor (Harmon) dreams of flying. He also dreams of running for his high school’s cross-country track team. Both dreams seem equally out of reach as Alex has been blind since the age of two. Determined to run anyway, Alex practices with his father, Probation Officer Geoff Taylor. When Geoff can no longer run with Alex, he pairs him with budding delinquent Brad Coleman (Blackstone‘s Jaren Brandt Bartlett), one of Alex’s classmates, in a plea deal to keep him out of jail and in school. Despite a rocky start, an unlikely friendship forms.

Harmom is one of the top young actors out of Canada these days–he’s been working since childhood–and it’s great to see him in a leading role. The 100 returns to The CW this week. We’re still waiting for word on a fourth season for Continuum. The cast also includes Craig Bierko, Crossing Jordan‘s Jill Hennessy, Genevieve Buechner, who co-starred with Harmon previously on The 100 and Caprica, and Lorne Cardinal from Corner Gas.

If I Had Wings airs at 7/6, 9/8c, and 11/10c tonight on UP Television. Here’s a snek peek:
