Rayna finally got one over on that jagwagon Jeff Fordham. FINALLY. She almost got rammed by a moving truck fleeing the paparazzi with new BFF Sadie Stone, but it’s all worth it because she signed Sadie to Highway 65, convincing her at the last minute that girls gotta stick together.

But what about Rayna’s girls? My blood started boiling the moment I saw Jeff Fordham eyeing them while they sang at their school fundraiser. I am not a huge fan of Teddy Conrad, but surely, SURELY, he will not fall prey to Jeff’s scheme. But if he does, oh the fireworks. The teenager and mama drama! I’d really like to see Rayna go Mama Bear on Jeff – we haven’t had a murder yet this season, right?

Drunk Avery was pouring himself a morning cocktail even before the Nashville open started. He needs a sponsor, y’all! By the end of the episode, he was sleeping it off in what I believe was a stranger’s car. Juliette still hasn’t broken the baby news yet—she can’t get a word in edgewise what with all the bailing Avery out of jail, and him yelling that he wishes he could “nothing her” and that he never met her.

On the road, Deacon slinked out of back-up singer Pam’s hotel room right off the top, but she won’t let him off that easy–which is fabulous. Moment of Goodness for the night – Deacon: “Do you want to be on my bus? wink wink.  Heck yeah, she wants to be on his ‘bus,’ but their quickie at the truck stop wasn’t quite quick enough. Don’t worry, friends! While they may have missed the tour bus, the double-entendre bus was thoroughly boarded.

Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
