On Last Week’s AHS: Freak Show

On last week’s premiere of American Horror Story: Freak Show, we’re taken to Jupiter, Florida in 1952. We meet a traveling freak show that has recently arrived to town. The group of curiosities is led by Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange), a woman proud of her monsters, but may also be holding onto a dying era. The show is not a hit, so she brings in Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson), conjoined twins who recently suffered a trauma. They meet Jimmy Darling (Evan Peters), who has lobster hands, his mother Ethel (Kathy Bates), the bearded woman, and a wide array of freaks from pinheads to little people. As Bette and Dot are brought further into this world, danger is lurking in the distance. Jupiter is in fear over a series of recent murders. Twisty may just be the most horrifying clown to ever exist, and he’s not happy when the freaks come into his murderous territory.
