WARNING: Spoilers for Graceland
The second season of USA Network’s Graceland has been unbelievably — yet awesomely — dark. Let us count the ways:
-The Odin secret is still hanging over Briggs’ beautiful head (that secret is so about to come out, right?)
-The season’s big case sent Johnny straight into the lion’s den where Carlos and Carlito make for volatile threats
-There’s Jakes’ messed up personal life
-Paige has been hardcore on her mission to bust up a sex trafficking ring
-And Mike — trying to help out Paige — ended up lying about Lina’s death. He covered it up to make it look like she escaped when in fact, he cremated her body (so dark!)
-Can’t forget Briggs is undercover with a group of dirty cops (headed by CSI: NY‘s Carmine Giovinazzo, who plays Sid)
-During this whole thing, Charlie discovered she’s pregnant with Paul’s baby. Wish we could say this will end happily ever after but there’s no way that’s going to happen. Not right away, anyway.
-Oh and someone played the infamous fake Jangles/Juan Badillo vs. Briggs tape for Briggs’ ears only. Things are getting mighty intense.
And we’re betting things will get even more intense as the second season winds down. The finale is around the corner. Jamie Gray Hyder, who plays Carlito’s sister Lucia, exclusively teased the finale for us:

Jamie Gray Hyder:Â I can tease the fact that when I read it I was shocked. I was shocked. I’m not sure if [fans] will be upset but they won’t be disappointed in the amount of excitement that it brings.
When we asked Brandon Jay McLaren (Jakes) during a press call whether he was going to get pulled into the Briggs situation, here’s what he had to say:

Brandon Jay McLaren: Towards the end, you know, he does get involved again, not by choice but because, if you remember, there’s still a tape out there with the audio of Briggs’, you know, killing an FBI agent. And Jakes’ was complicit in that cover-up. So until that is resolved, Briggs and Jakes will sort of always be linked in this cover-up together.
Vanessa Ferlito (Charlie) had this to say about some of the interactions her character will have with Paul at some point this season:

Vanessa Ferlito: I think people are going to fall off the chair when they see what happens. That’s what happened when I read the script; I almost died.
We’re thinking this has to be coming up soon. In the press call, she further talked about what’s going down between Charlie and Briggs:
Vanessa: I don’t think anybody should be too comfortable with the lovey-dovey stuff because what happens is heart-wrenching. Still, when I read the script I’m like, ‘Oh god, like, you know, it’s really, really intense.’
Synopsis for “Home”: Briggs receives startling information that someone in Graceland has evidence of his past crimes, and he decides to do whatever he must to take that person down, meanwhile the team executes a major bank heist in order to steal the money of Mike’s greatest adversary.

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
