Meghan Ory didn’t rest long following the cancellation of Intelligence this spring. This weekend, she headlines Hallmark Movie Channel’s The Memory Book, an original film that’s part mystery, part romance, part drama, part comedy, and all charm. Luke Macfarlane, who recently popped up on The Night Shift and is known for Brothers & Sisters, co-stars.
It’s a tale of a photographer, Chloe (Ory), who’s been unlucky in love, mostly by her own hand, who happens upon a memory book that she thinks captures an ideal romance. She teams up with a new acquaintance, Gabe (Macfarlane), who she meets at her exhibit, and together the two embark on a friendship while unraveling the secret of the couple in the photos. Along the way, Chloe learns that she’s not terribly far off from the woman she’s been idealizing in an old pictures.
The supporting cast includes Adrienne Barbeau, Art Hindle, and one of my favorites from the Canadian version of Intelligence (completely unrelated to the CBS version), and more recently, Continuum, John Cassini. It’s a really sweet, light film that’s a great Saturday night choice for date night, family night, or girls night.
The Memory Book premieres Saturday night at 9/8c on Hallmark Movie Channel. Here’s a sneak peek:
