Confession: Holy crap!! That was a serious cliffhanger, and despite all the hype, wow! Now let me preface my next comment by saying I love Andrew Marlowe and I respect his process…however, that doesn’t mean I liked every element of his story. I trust him completely simply because he has always done what he thought best even while taking the heat from people. That is how you make a show great. A definite hallmark of an A class, brilliant show runner.
All the best writers and creators create a love/hate/ I can’t stand you right now/how could you do that … you get the idea ~ relationship with their audience. I know because this is the fifth show I have followed from day one and they all do it. Some very well and some not so much.
Now, that doesn’t mean that people have the right to hate/criticize the actors and creators. Constructive criticism works. They will listen and I know this is true.Â
Okay, now on to the episode..and I know my comments may be unpopular given all the fallout from the episode, but I have always believed this to be true from day one.Â
What I Loved
Beckett married?? Okay this was funny, really. I love that Castle has something to tease Beckett about. She’s always giving him grief for his past and now the tables are turned. LOL!
There are plenty of people who have done stupid teenage things and then found out they did something completely out of character. I think this is art imitating life here.
Caskett. I loved the Caskett fun, light moments and how the episode was almost if not completely focused on Caskett. That’s why I love when MilMar collaborates together.Â
Now I know that some people say that this wasn’t typical for an episode by MilMar but…they are creative and have the ability to craft the story in a way that feels real and three-dimensional. (Soapbox moment, I apologize). Andrew has the final say, so we can take it or leave the ship. He isn’t forcing anyone to watch the show, people. 🙂
The ending/no Caskett wedding. Yes! The cliffhanger was epic…holy cow! I knew it was big but not like that. Sadly, I was pretty sure we wouldn’t get our wedding just yet. That’s what fall sweeps are for, right?Â
Now as far as Castle – everyone relax. They will not nor did AWM kill Castle. Would they change the show to Beckett? No! AWM has a plan including bringing some new threads to continue crafting our fairytale. That’s how the show will have a long life. He will give us what we have wanted for 5 years as long as we hang on and trust our Captain of the Castle ship.Â
Just like the speech Castle gave Beckett, we can’t give up. AWM is adding layers and dimension to the characters and the story. There are more chapters in Caskett’s book.Â
Gosh, what else can say except Thank you, Andrew Marlowe for bringing us an amazing /challenging/frustrating/maddening episode. I honestly think this has got to be the best cliffhanger of the entire series.Â
See you in the fall. Can’t wait for the start of season seven.
Castle airs Mondays at 10/9c on ABC and returns with its seventh season in September.

What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…
What Lucifer Said: Favorite quotes from Supernatural “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Shoot outs. Fake outs. And long-awaited revelations. “Little Bo Bleep” was a jam-packed episode that wrapped up some loose ends and totally frayed others. Â It finally gave us one Sarkissian in jail and pulled back the curtain on Briggs’ master plan, but it also set up Jakes for a world…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
As someone whose professions (writing instructor and literary analyst) involve taking other writers’ stories apart and finding the flaws, I have to disagree with you on CASTLE.
There was no gain in angering fans by ruining the wedding. We know Castle will survive, and he’ll be around by the end of the first episode next season.
The other characters will be upset then angry when they discover he’s been kidnapped, but that’s no big deal. It’s merely fuel for the first episode and the introduction or reintroduction of the season’s Big Bad.
As a writer, I could have created that kind of suspense and character angst with the addition of one short scene and still have given the fans a payoff of a dream wedding.
The so-called warm-fuzzy feeling ending can be just as powerful and as fan-attracting as a cliffhanger.
I know a lot of us feel betrayed and angry by the ending, and some of us won’t be back next year because the writers cared so little for our feelings.
Appreciate the feedback and comments. I love debates. I knew that it would create
talk and that’s ok. Thank you for the constructive nature of your comments.
I don’t like all Castle episodes and that’s ok too. 🙂
Have a great day! 🙂
