UP Television gets into Mother’s Day mode with a new family-friendly film, My Mother’s Future Husband starring fan favorite Lea Thompson and Cedar Cove‘s Sebastian Spence.
The plot is simple: Headly (Mr. Young‘s Matreya Fedor) is a 15-year-old who’s found herself as the go-to BFF for everything her mom, Rene (Thomspon), likes to do–dinner, movies, errands, spa days–but now she’s at the point that she wants her independence. She also wants some happiness for her mom, so she and her other BFF hatch a plan to unwittingly set Rene up with a few prospective paramours. Nothing goes quite to plan, and feelings are hurt, but true love prevails.
It’s a sweet family-safe romance that’s as much about a teen’s love for her mom as her own chance at a first love and trying to help her mom find that feeling again, too.
