Confession: I was happy that Castle was back from its break. I wasn’t too sure about another period episode, especially since “The Blue Butterfly” was one of my favorites. I shouldn’t have been so skeptical. The episode was pulled off well and it comes in at a close tie to “The Blue Butterfly” for me.

The episode brought plenty of Monday Night Fever that’s for sure!

What I Loved:

Martha wanting to help with the flower arrangements for Castle & Beckett’s wedding. The whole conversation was classic Martha. Too funny! I also liked that she helped transform the precinct into the 70s and her hiring actors and creating scripts was perfect.

Ryan & Esposito taking on the characters of Snooki and Ray. I thought it was funny and at the same time well done. I am not sure who was more of a scene stealer, Seamus or Jon, but they both did a great job. It is hard to say if one was better than the other, so I might just have to settle for a tie in the scene stealing department.

Captain Castle. Beckett’s reaction was priceless. I loved how she was annoyed that Castle was getting the attention and she had to take a back seat so to speak. Probably my favorite part of the whole episode.

Alexis. I was happy to see Alexis have a part in the episode. Castle’s reaction to her 70s outfit was perfect. I also loved her dress at the end.

I didn’t find anything that I didn’t like in the episode. It was well done and a great story. I am sure everyone had a blast making the episode.

Lastly, I have to give props to the costume department and Luke Riechle for creating the ’70s look for the cast. Nicely done! I think Stana, Nathan and Tamala had the best outfits, although everyone pulled off the look nicely.

I can’t forget the set designers and Alfred Sole either. The transformation of the precinct to the 70s was great. I also liked the Glitterati club and the look that the design crew gave it. Props to them for the great work!

I can’t wait to see what is in store for the last three episodes of the season. Can’t believe we are this close to the end of season six.

Castle airs Mondays at 10/9c on ABC.
