Okay, I’m already getting nervous because of the title of tonight’s episode of Vikings. I shouldn’t be surprised since “Unforgiven” ended with Ragnar wanting to make Jarl Borg suffer by giving him the tortuous blood eagle death sentence. But I thought maybe things would pick up in the next episode with that killing happening off screen.
I should have known better.
You have to love a show that requires you to look up the most brutal and gruesome forms of execution in the history of all time. This is exactly what I did after last week’s Vikings. And it really made for fascinating reading. However, after I did my research, I do admit to making a big wish that no torture and execution-filled nightmares would come my way. And I’m happy to report they didn’t.
I wonder if I’ll have to make the same wish after tonight’s episode. Here’s some of what you need to know about “Blood Eagle”:
