Warning: Spoilers for Vikings
Tonight is a brand new episode of HISTORY’s Vikings. But before we get to our preview, some random thoughts on last week’s “Answers in Blood”:
-I still love the theme song. I always listen to the open. I never skip over it. Sometimes I’ll hit rewind and listen/watch it all over again.
-A hatchet to the head is a quick yet brutal way to go.
-I love it when Lagertha the badass shield maiden lines up alongside the guys. She’s one of the most fierce females on all of TV.
-The big battle scene was shot so well.
-Bjorn turns out to be a formidable fighter. Not quite good enough for Ragnar though.
-Sucks that Jarl Borg escaped.
-Ragnar is crazy to think he can have both Aslaug and Lagertha. Neither would stand for it. Aslaug might accept it. But she’d do some underhanded things to make sure she was the favorite. Lagertha? Forget it. She knows she’s worth more than having to share the man she had first. Love what The Seer said about being foolish to think that this is his choice to make. He really should know better, right?
-Man, Athelstan looked like crap. I feel so bad for him. I knew Athelstan wasn’t going to swallow the host he received at Communion. He has to be in such an awful place right now. He’s attending Mass with the very people who crucified him. I wish Athelstan had an ally to confide in so we could get a little bit more of his POV. At the same time I hope his prayers aren’t the only way we’re going to get it. He definitely seems further from the Christian end of things than ever before if he’s asking for the Holy Spirit to reenter him. And he’s asking for signs that God is still in his life. That weirdness in his room — I’m not sure what happened there. Someone may be showing him a sign. And it may not be God.
-Lagertha made the choice. She decided to go back to her awful husband. Thankfully we know she’s strong enough to take care of herself. But, still, the scene where she talked to the village and told them that Bjorn was going to stay but she was going to go — that was tough for me. It made me so incredibly sad..I got a little bit emotional. I did love this little exchange between Lagertha and her son, however:
Bjorn: “Don’t take anymore shit.”
Lagertha: “Who do you think I am?”
-Love Ragnar being concerned for Athelstan. Hope he and the others get themselves back to England so they can get him away from King Ecbert et. al.
Now here’s what’s going on in episode six, “Unforgiven” which airs tonight at 10/9c on HISTORY:
Synopsis:Â King Horik returns to Kattegat with a surprising proposition for Ragnar. Lagertha runs into a less than enthusiastic homecoming from her new husband. Athelstan, struggling with his own inner demons, becomes confidant to King Ecbert.
Below are some videos and photos from tonight’s episode. I also want to congratulate the show on getting a season three renewal. YAY! Love that we already know there’s going to be another season of Vikings. So glad the move to Thursdays didn’t impact the show negatively.

Rosy McEwen Talks The Alienist: Angel of Darkness [Exclusive]
Hands down, one of the best surprises of The Alienist: Angel of Darkness is that the serial killer this season has been front and center alongside the cast as a fully-formed character. We’ve watched Libby Hatch devolve from a prim, mild-mannered nurse to a woman in a rage hell-bent on…

Louriza Tronco Talks The Order Season 2 [Exclusive]
[Warning: Spoilers ahead for Season 2.] The Order’s second season is dark yet delightful entertainment on many levels, and one of its biggest sources of joy and snark is the sassy Gabrielle Dupres. Last season, she was assertive and deadly and fairly annoyed with the world. This season, she’s been…

Two Takes: The Catch “The Knock-Off”
Who can you trust? If this episode of The Catch was any indication, the answer is just about nobody. What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…
What Lucifer Said: Favorite quotes from Supernatural “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Supernatural episodes are almost always funny but thanks to the dialogue and a certain man speaking said dialogue, I laughed a lot during “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” You know, when I wasn’t busy fearing for Sam’s life or wondering what in the world was going on with Dean and…
What They Said: The Flash, “Legends Of Today” and Arrow, “Legends Of Yesterday”
Two nights of Arrow + The Flash = what more could we ask for?! I don’t know what it is about blending these shows, but I can’t help but feel that every time they come together, they somehow become greater than the sum of their parts. And that’s saying a lot…
What they Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Graceland “Little Bo Bleep”
Shoot outs. Fake outs. And long-awaited revelations. “Little Bo Bleep” was a jam-packed episode that wrapped up some loose ends and totally frayed others. Â It finally gave us one Sarkissian in jail and pulled back the curtain on Briggs’ master plan, but it also set up Jakes for a world…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
