[Warning: General episode spoilers for mid-season premiere.]
After an almost six-month break, Suits is finally back with the second half of its third season (and has already been renewed for a fourth–yay!). When we left off, the (scoche drawn out) Ava Hessington case/orchestrated merger had finally come to a close and both Harvey and Mike were at tipping points in their private lives while their ladies were at professional and personal crossroads. Over at ye olde Harvard file room, Louis had just discovered there was no student file for Mike.
When we pick up tomorrow night in “Buried Secrets,” it’s the next morning in Pearson Specter time, and I have to say, it’s refreshing to not have a time jump. We resume the interpersonal arcs as both couples make big decisions, and the firm starts a case that has painful ties for Mike and reopens old wounds.
Louis starts to nose around about what he found and makes some assumptions that aren’t exactly right but he thankfully shares them with Donna so she can give Harvey a heads up and they can plan a workaround. Louis also finds his head spinning when Sheila comes calling. Harvey is the man in the middle when the other two women in his life have to come to a professional agreement tinged by his personal relationships with both of them.
It’s a busy, busy hour that falls right back into the cadences we know and love. Look for Black Knight Rises and Black Hawk Down to be completely altered in your brain, Donna to beautifully shame Louis (again), and Scottie to best Harvey in getting a high-profile name that he couldn’t.
