Imagine being a junior in high school and starring in your own show. Well Austin North doesn’t have to imagine it, this is his life. Austin stars on the new Disney show, I Didn’t Do It. This talented 17 year old is living his dream and having a great time. He talked to TV Goodness about his TV character, his musical skills, and success at a young age.
TV GOODNESS: Â Tell me a little bit about the show and about your character.
AUSTIN NORTH:  I play Logan on I Didn’t Do It. Logan has a twin sister Lindy and they have three best friends.  And they’re all entering high school, they’re all freshmen. And they are always getting into these crazy situations and they have to figure out a way to get out of them on every single episode. All our characters are very diverse and somehow we click and we’ve been best friends forever. It’s a fun show.
TV GOODNESS: Â Talk about working with your on-screen twin, your co-star, Olivia Holt.
AUSTIN: Olivia’s great. I first met her on Kickin’ It, like three years ago and we’ve been friends ever since. So we established a brother/sister relationship over time. Yeah, Logan and Lindy’s relationship — they’re like every brother and sister relationship; they argue sometimes but it’s funny how deep down they love each other. I have a sister and it’s very similar to having a twin.
TV GOODNESS: Â I was watching a video of the two of you this morning. Your sister was singing, you were playing drums.
AUSTIN: One of our covers?
TV GOODNESS: Yeah. It was good, I think it was Coldplay.
AUSTIN: Thank you.
TV GOODNESS: Now do you sing as well? Or are you mostly drums?
AUSTIN: I really just focus on drums. I can carry a tune but I’m not like American Idol status.
TV GOODNESS:  You’re not?  Come on you have to go try out.
AUSTIN: That’s true, maybe I should work on it.
TV GOODNESS: Something we try to ask everyone is: what TV shows do you like to watch?
AUSTIN: I love the show 24 and action stuff like that. Comedy wise I love The Office, that’s probably my favorite comedy show. My favorite Disney show is Even Stevens. I loved that show back in the day. I like shows in all different categories.
TV GOODNESS: When you’re not working what do you like to do?

AUSTIN: I love playing the drums. I like doing that most of the time. I like to go outside and play basketball with my friends. Go to the beach and surf. I like to work out, just really anything active, stuff like that.
TV GOODNESS: Back to the show. Tell me about the rest of the cast and how you work together. What’s it like to work with people your own age?
AUSTIN:  We’re all super close. We all met like a year ago and ever since the day we met we all just clicked.  It’s really like every day going into work with some of my best friends. We’re super close now and there’s no drama or anything like that. We just have a really good time on set, it’s a blast!
TV GOODNESS: Is there a dream guest star that you would want to come on the show?
AUSTIN: There’s so many, I don’t know. I think it would be cool to have an NBA basketball player to come on or something like that. Like Kevin Durant or Derek Rose, that would be cool.
TV GOODNESS: Â What do you say to kids that want to get in the business like you have at a young age? What great advice could you pass down to someone?
AUSTIN: At first it was really tough for me; I would go on a bunch of auditions, do acting classes. Not everything came right away, it’s a process.  [I] just want to let everybody know to just keep their head up when things are not happening right away, eventually things will start happening. You know that you just got to stick with it.
TV GOODNESS: Â Is there anything else you want to say about the show? Why should people watch it?
AUSTIN: Yeah, I think people should watch it because it’s funny. I think people will want to see the chemistry that we have with each other’s characters. It’s a unique show, it’s a different show. I think people that watch will enjoy it.
I Didn’t Do It airs Sunday nights at 8:30/7:30 ET/PT on the Disney Channel.
