[Warning: General spoilers in synopsis, images, and video].
I’ve talked a little bit before about TV networks and their “farm teams”–most notably, The CW. But Hallmark Channel and Lifetime have them, too. Saturday night, Hallmark Channel keeps it in the family with Chance at Romance, a new movie starring Erin Krakow, who’s also headlining the network’s freshman series, When Calls the Heart. Here, she forgoes the corset and petticoats in a modern romance about the perils of Internet dating, but because this is Hallmark Channel, the downside is sweet and not scary.

Starring opposite Krakow are Ryan McPartlin (Chuck) and Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement). The story is a straightforward tale of the misunderstandings that can occur when taking to the Web to find love, and it sounds a little like a flip side version of another romance from the Hallmark Channel library, Straight From the Heart, which starred Teri Polo and Andrew McCarthy and runs regularly on the network.

Here’s what to expect: Samantha Hart (Krakow) is delighted when her online “Chance at Romance” with photographer Heath Madsen (McPartlin) eventually results in Heath sending her a first-class ticket to visit. When she arrives for what she expects to be a romantic weekend, she learns her online relationship with the widowed photographer was actually fueled by his matchmaking son (newcomer Ian Andrew) and their longtime housekeeper (Richardson). When Sam can’t go home right away, she and Heath have time to get acquainted.
Chance at Romance premieres Saturday night at 7/6 c before a new episode of When Calls the Heart (which has two of my Canadian boys–Andrew W. Walker (A Bride for Christmas) and Derek Hamilton (Arrow)–as guest stars because it’s trying to kill me) and will repeat throughout the month. Here’s a sneak peek:

What They Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Black Sails “XXIII”
The dialogue in “XXIII” is phenomenal. It’s always a fun ride when Black Sails carries its viewers along without giving them the chance to catch their breath. When an episode moves at this unforgiving pace, there is no chance for a breather nor is there a respite from the information…
What Lucifer Said: Favorite quotes from Supernatural “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Supernatural episodes are almost always funny but thanks to the dialogue and a certain man speaking said dialogue, I laughed a lot during “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” You know, when I wasn’t busy fearing for Sam’s life or wondering what in the world was going on with Dean and…
What They Said: The Flash, “Legends Of Today” and Arrow, “Legends Of Yesterday”

What they Said: Top 4 Quotable Moments from Graceland “Little Bo Bleep”
Shoot outs. Fake outs. And long-awaited revelations. “Little Bo Bleep” was a jam-packed episode that wrapped up some loose ends and totally frayed others. Â It finally gave us one Sarkissian in jail and pulled back the curtain on Briggs’ master plan, but it also set up Jakes for a world…

3 Moments of Goodness from Brooklyn Nine-Nine “Johnny and Dora”
The most satisfying part of this season’s finale has to the Jake and Amy kiss. Well, they kiss three times but the last one is the best one — and it means something. The Charles and Rosa dynamic was also great. I love how she’s convinced he doesn’t know anything…
In the movie ;” Chance at Romance” who plays the sister of Samantha Hart?
Hi Steven. She was played by Jean Louisa Kelly — http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0446465/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Thanks for reading!
lol.. I was wondering the same thing because she looked so familiar and the full cast wasn’t on IMDB.. I kept looking online for full cast and it’s a good thing I found this site because you asked exactly what I needed to know..lol I’m obsessive with stuff like this so it would’ve driven me crazy and kept me up until I found my answer. 🙂
You’re welcome! She wasn’t in any of the press materials, either. I had it on DVR and went back and looked at the opening credits.
Who played the restaurant/bar owner, tall with gray hair and beard? Thanks.
Abraham Benrubi, best known for ER, but he’ll always be Larry Kubiac from Parker Lewis Can’t Lose first for me. 😉
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0072344/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Thanks for reading and writing!
Where was this movie filmed?
I haven’t found a firm confirmation but if I had to guess, I’d say California. The Larry Levinson-produced TV movies for Hallmark tend to be shot in the U.S. Several of the cast members are on Twitter and might respond if you query.
I was wondering when and where I could buy chance for romance I loved that movie great Actors and Actresses
Too early for it to be for sale but the Hallmark films do sometimes come around to DVD. For now, I’d say just keep an eye out for re-airs on Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel, and PixL (http://pixltv.com/schedule/), where it was called Friend Request.
What was the song and who was the artist of the song playing close to the end of the movie?
Hi Jerry! I do not have the movie on my DVR anymore to check. You might query at http://community.hallmarkchannel.com/ and see if someone there knows. Thanks for reading.
Please Please let us know who was the musical group or singer for the end of the movie, it is impossible to find through the regular channels. I have been up and down the internet searching for this songs singer or group to purchase this song it sounds british to me but what do I know?
Please help us out,
Regards,
D. Culver ABS
Hi! Some of the commenters further down said they had found the artist. These were their suggestions:
“Lamar- Stars https://app.box.com/shared/dl6eokk5hz”
“The song is Afterglow by Wrecking Season. I found it…on Rhapsody.”
What’s the song at the beginning of the movie “I want to wake up with a after glow I want to take it every where I go anything anyplace you are make you light up like a shining star maybe we’ll get away from here inside your sick in that notion”…”anything anyplace you are make you light up like a shining star”…”
Hi Amber. I do not know and my Google lyric attempts got me nowhere. 😉 I’d suggest you query over on the Hallmark boards at http://community.hallmarkchannel.com/ and see if someone there caught it. Thanks for reading.
I did try looking around on there but I’m not sure how to find any forum on it…that’s why I asked..haha. I tried googling also.. idk why nothing came up. Even looked on hallmarks website.. you’d think they have it somewhere.
I saw this movie tonight and have also been going crazy, attempting to find this song! Google has been no help thus far, so frustrating! It must be somewhere…
Please

Thanks, Karen! Is that on an album that the commenters can purchase?
The song is Afterglow by Wrecking Season. I found it since a while on Rhapsody.
Would like to purchase the DVD Chance at Romance and the DVD Second Chance. Where can I find them. I’m in Evansville,In
Hi Paul. We’re not affiliated with the network. Your best shot is to keep an eye on Amazon, or contact the networks directly.
Who is the actor who played Jackson, the driver, in Chance of Romance?
Abraham Benrubi best known from ER.
I missed the last ten minutes, what happens after Sam leaves for home after the snooty blonde kisses Heath?
Hi Rosanna, The film is running again Wednesday at 4 pm/3c and Thursday at 8 am/7c.
Loved the house they used in the movie Chance for Romance. Does anyone know where the house is located ?
Hi Betty. I do not know. The movie was filmed in California.
My fiance’ fell in love with this movie and I have been trying to find it on DVD for her. Can anyone tell me who has it available? I have even called some Hallmark stores and no one has it.
Hallmark gradually releases their films to DVD so it’s likely just a matter of time. If you get PiXL, keep an eye out for “Friend Request.” Same film, different title, no commercials, and you can burn a DVD from their airing. See http://pixltv.com/find-pixl-tv-channel/ for where to find it.
What’s that cool song in the background at about 42 min? “You put your arm around me…”. Nice movie!
I emailed Stephen Graziano, the music director for the movie, and he said it was ” happy to be” by Terra Pasternak. A thorough scouring of the internet for me has produced this as the only recording of the song:
https://youtu.be/1jBoT5iZPHo
Maybe you could take up the search and find out more ?
The song is Happy to Be. Beautiful lyrics and voice. Then it all goes south at the third verse…..

Hi Scott and Mike. Please look further up in comments. I believe some of the other commenters have ID’d it. Thanks for reading!
Would like to know the name of the song that plays at the very beginning of the movie that has the lyrics ” wanna wake up with afterglow”?
Hi Terri. Please read through the comments above — folks have answered there with links. Thanks!

Please see earlier responses in the comments — lots of folks have chimed in on suggestions.
What computer software did Heath use in the movie for his art?
I checked afterglow that wasn’t the song at the end of the movie. It’s driving me nutts
There is a link above, 3/14/2015, for the song, Lamar – Stars
Thanks, Renee!
