Hallmark Channel continues it’s falalalala-ing, and one of last week’s newbies turned out to be a gem. It’s repeating twice today so I wanted to give it a little love–and as a bonus, it’s got ties to two TV Goodness favorites.

Let it Snow stars Candace Cameron Bure and Alan Thicke as a Stephanie and Ted Beck, a daughter/dad developer team responsible for a line of DINK (double income, no kids) focused resorts. Ted dispatches Stephanie from Arizona to snowy Maine to evaluate a new family-owned resort he’s just bought. Once there, she finds the spirit of Christmas is alive and well and not necessarily in need of a corporate makeover and she sets out to change her dad’s mind.

She also strikes up a romance with Brady, the son of the family who owns the resort, who had his own plans for a makeover but couldn’t get his dad to evolve. He’s played by Jesse Hutch, who’s currently recurring on Arrow as Daily, the cop working with Blood. Bure and Hutch have a really nice vibe with each other, and although it somewhat predictably progresses from fractious to friendly, it’s fun to watch it play out.

Also in the cast is Supernatural alum, and fan fave Samantha Ferris as a longtime visitor to the resort who gives Stephanie some perspective on what the Lewises are selling and what the resort means to her own family.

Canadian character actress Gabrielle Rose, familiar to folks from Fringe, Rogue, and Once Upon a Time, plays Karla, the matriarch of the resort, and she’s lovely as a woman trying to support her husband’s decision to walk away from a business that’s been handed down for decades, comfort her son, and still give her guests a best, last Christmas before everything changes. And she gives Stephanie a sense of family and tradition that she missed out on when she lost her mother as a young girl.
